Knitting, Crochet, Art and Life

Hi! My name is Erin and I am here to help you learn to be the best knitter or crocheter you desire to be. Whether it’s nailing the basics of casting on or chaining to learning advanced skills such as two-color brioche and intarsia, I am here to guide to so you can become the best fiber artist your heart desires.

I started my journey as a knitting and crochet teaching artist in 2010 when I began working as a knitting teacher at Bedford Stuyvesant Collegiate Charter School in Brooklyn, New York. I quickly learned my love of teaching and helping others develop their skills would turn into my life’s work. Working as a teacher at the charter school showed me the power of knitting and crochet to build creativity and community, deter bullying and build self-esteem.

I have worked with students from all ages and all walks of life, helping them to knit, crochet express themselves through their art, and share their creativity with others.  A few of my favorite student projects that students have worked on include knit watermelons, a crochet health care bear, and a class blanket made from lettered granny squares.

As a teacher, I am a level 1 and level 2 Craft Yarn Council Certified knitting and crochet instructor. I have worked as an online and in-person instructor for locations that include Michaels Arts and Crafts, Bedford Stuyvesant Collegiate Charter School, Apex for Youth, and Bruckner Forever Young Social Adult Day Care.
